Listening to NPR last week, I heard this gem in an interview -
“We’re looking for someone to collaborate and work together.”
Well, I just had to find the dictionary definition for collaborate –
To work together, especially in a joint intellectual effort.
I shouldn’t be amused at this, as I’m sure my tongue would be totally twisted if I were being interviewed on a national radio program.
